This is my favourite country that I am going to talk about and it’s Greece! I’ve been waiting to talk about this destination and I want for you all to hear about it. It’s such an amazing country with beautiful islands: the culture, the diversity, the vibes and everything to it is what made me feel so welcome and happy. It’s a country that you simply cannot get enough of!

Last Winter I originally wanted to go to Greece but 9 days spent here then to fly back home would’ve been too short. So I visited Budapest and Prague before my trip then flew to Athens where I was to meet with my two friends to start our Greek Island hopping tour. The day that we arrived into Athens we checked into our hostel, freshened up then went out to get some Greek cuisine (it was so delicious). Later that day we went sight seeing at Zeus’s temple, then went back to our hostel where we went out to its rooftop bar to have drinks while watching the sunset. The next morning we woke up early and headed to another hostel this where we met with our tour guide and the rest of our group who we were going to be part of our tour. Shortly after when the tour guide had marked off everyone’s name off the roll, a transfer bus came to pick us up to take us down to the port in Athens. From there we boarded our ferry to Mykonos where we were to begin our fun and adventures of the Greek Islands for the next 9 days.

I will provide information about the Greek Islands which will be categorised below that will go with each destination along with photos of my trip!

Greece is a country located in southern Europe, on the eastern edge of the Mediterranean Sea. It is a 21 hour and 15 minute plane ride from Melbourne with a stopover in Doha flying with Qatar Airways, otherwise if you’re flying with other airlines it generally takes longer.

The most common languages that people speak in Greece are Greek and English.

The currency in Greece is the EUR Euros.

Best season to travel

June, July and August are the best time to travel because that is when it’s summer.

It depends on how you spend your days although money does add up quite quickly whilst you’re over there. On average I would say $100 AUD is enough to spend for the day.

Athens is the capital of Greece.

It was also at the heart of Ancient Greece, a powerful civilization and empire. The city is still dominated by 5th-century BC landmarks, including the Acropolis and more.
